One of the challenges I've had while struggling with my personal spiritual awakening has been that it often seems at odds with what I've been taught as part of my Catholic religion. But one of the constants with spiritual growth has been the urging to “trust yourself”, trust what you sense as true and valid. Trust your feelings. For me, Christmas has always “felt right.” I've loved the warmth of family and the sense of hope and love that permeates not only our family, but our community. Can those feelings be wrong? How does “awakening” spiritually fit with the concepts and feelings that you've had your entire life about Christmas?
